After twenty long, productive, and beautiful years in the majestic city of New York, life brought me back to the port of origin, Dominican Republic. Contact with nature was something I had been craving for a long time, so when I moved back to the island that saw me grow up, it was essential for me to live by the sea. In fact, it was the only way I could ever come back. From that moment on, sitting down to watch and hear the movement of the waves is one of my chosen forms of meditation.

That’s actually how in the midst of the pandemic I spent a whole year, while contemplating the construction of this space. Then, the world opened up and I started traveling, and because I’m a bit of a nomad, I decided to expand my wings once again and go explore other places.

Now, that I’m finally sharing this space with you, I’m doing it from Spain, and I feel a giggle for what’s supposed to be a sort of diary, hoping this could make this journey of being a Dominican woman breaking old patterns and false narratives a bit more joyful, while all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.

I hereby invite you on the journey with me, through some existencial, and hopefully fun writing as well as my podcast, Baraja Eso, about process, identity and transformation, all with a slight dose of humor and Caribbean touch.

Welcome to this, my personal hub, in which I’m attempting to enjoy life, right here and now!
